Privacy Policy
Validity
This Privacy Policy is effective from 1 June 2026 and applies to the LITOU app and the related website litou.dk.
Who are we?
We are executive recruiters who have developed the professional matchmaking app LITOU, which matches companies with candidates in a simple and efficient way—without job postings, applications, CVs, job portals or HR databases.
You are always welcome to contact us if you would like more information. This also applies if you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or if you would like to provide feedback, whether positive or negative.
Data Controller
We are the data controller for the personal data of our users, customers, and business partners that we process. It is our responsibility to ensure that your personal data is handled appropriately.
We therefore impose high standards on our business partners, who must guarantee that your personal data is adequately protected. For example, external service providers may supply systems for managing our operations, provide services or consultancy, IT hosting, or marketing support.
What is Personal Data?
There are two categories of personal data:
General personal data includes all types of information relating to an individual, such as identifying information including name, address, age, and education. It also includes financial information, such as tax and debt information. Personal data may also include information about significant social issues, other private matters, sick leave, or employment-related circumstances. Information such as photographs, family circumstances, housing, vehicle ownership, educational qualifications, job applications, CVs, employment date and position, job responsibilities, and work telephone numbers also constitute personal data.
Special categories of personal data (sensitive personal data) are specifically defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the conditions for processing such data are more restrictive than for general personal data. Sensitive personal data includes information revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinion, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data processed for the purpose of uniquely identifying a person, health data, and information concerning a person’s sex life or sexual orientation.
Information We Collect
User Information
Your use of the app generates information about your activity, including how you use the app, such as when you log in, the features you use, actions you perform, information about other users that you have viewed or interacted with, and how you engage with others, including searches, matching, and communication.
Profile Information
When you create a profile, you provide us with basic information relating to the profile you wish to create, such as your company name/logo, email address, and company details.
Profile Information
When completing your profile, you may choose to provide additional information, such as your geographical location, industry, profile type, employment preferences, and areas of interest. You may also add further details, including a personal description, the number of employees in your company or department, education, and completed projects.
Only your profile type is mandatory. However, the more detailed your profile is, the more accurate the matches the system can provide.
As a company, you can read here about how to attract the candidates you are looking for. As a candidate, you can read here about how to create a profile that helps you secure an interview.
Employment preferences may, in certain cases, constitute special category (sensitive) personal data. For example, if you indicate that you are seeking employment with reduced ability to work or other special employment conditions, this may reveal information relating to your health or other protected characteristics.
Facial Recognition / Profile Photos
When you upload a profile photo, it may in certain circumstances be regarded as sensitive personal data, as the most suitable profile photo is typically one in which you can be easily recognised.
By uploading your photo, you consent to your image being displayed to other users for identification and recognition purposes.
Read here about which type of photo is suitable for a company profile, and here about which type of photo is suitable for a candidate profile.
Identification Information
For company users, we collect the company’s CVR number (Central Business Register number).
In the future, we may introduce additional login methods with corresponding identity verification mechanisms to help confirm that you are who you claim to be.
Technical Information
Your use of the app involves the collection of information from and about the device you use to access the app. This includes hardware and software information such as your IP address, device ID and device type, app settings and characteristics, app crash reports, advertising identifiers, and identifiers associated with cookies or other technologies that uniquely identify a device or browser.
Please read our Cookies Policy for more information.

When using the app, you may initiate conversations with your matches.
You are solely responsible for the content of the messages you send to other users. We recommend that you read our Community Guidelines before starting a conversation.

When you make a purchase, we retain the invoice as proof of the transaction, including details such as what you purchased, the purchase date, the price, and the company’s CVR number and registered address.

If another user submits a report involving you (for example, alleging that you have violated our Community Guidelines), we may, where appropriate, inform the reporting user about the action we have taken in response to their report.

The app is 100% free from advertisements and marketing newsletters, allowing you to enjoy an uninterrupted user experience.
Business Transfers
We may transfer your personal data if we become involved, in whole or in part, in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, divestiture, restructuring, reorganisation, dissolution, bankruptcy, or any other transaction involving a change of ownership or control of our business.
Data Retention and Deletion of Your Personal Data
We retain your personal data only for as long as permitted or required under applicable law and delete it when it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. The retention period depends on the nature of the information and the legal basis for its processing. Consequently, it is not possible to specify a single general retention period for all types of personal data.
With regard to payment information, such data is stored securely in our GDPR-compliant accounting system. We retain transaction and purchase records only for the periods required under applicable accounting and bookkeeping legislation.
If you decide to stop using the app, you may delete your profile at any time. Once your profile has been deleted, it will no longer be visible for other users. Following profile deletion, we retain certain information as described below.
Security Retention Period
To protect the safety and security of our users, we apply a security retention period of three (3) months following profile deletion, or one (1) year following the suspension or blocking of an account.
During this period, we retain relevant information to investigate unlawful or harmful conduct and to prevent misuse of the platform. This processing is based on our legitimate interests and, where applicable, the legitimate interests of potential third-party victims.

In this context, we may process personal data such as your name, address, company registration number (CVR), details of the services provided, special agreements, payment information, and similar information.
We also process your personal data to communicate with you, including responding to questions about our services. We only process the information that you provide us during our communication.
The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract or to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.
Once the relevant service has been delivered and any outstanding matters have been resolved, we will delete your personal data without undue delay.
In exceptional circumstances, it may be necessary to retain your personal data for a longer period where justified by legal or legitimate business requirements.
Accounting
We are legally required to retain accounting records in accordance with applicable bookkeeping legislation.
This means that we retain invoices and similar accounting documentation, which may contain general personal data such as your name, address, and a description of the services provided.
