Which Photo should I use for my Business Profile?
Well, which photo should you choose for your profile?
Here’s my take on it
First and foremost, your profile should look professional
After all, you’re not representing yourself
You’re representing the company you work for
Or, if you’re self-employed,
Your own business
A great profile photo
Is a picture of your building
Taken from the street
Or from the parking lot
Or whatever people see when they arrive at your business
And there’s one very good reason for that
It is in people’s nature
To like things
That feel familiar
When I’m going somewhere new
Somewhere I’ve never been before
I often look up the address on Street View first
Then, when I arrive
I’m genuinely happy
Because it looks
Exactly the way I expected
I recognize the place
Even though I’ve never been there before
And that is really a great feeling
You can create the same feeling
By using a photo of your building
Then, when candidates
Arrive for an interview
They’ll recognize your company
As soon as they get there
And just like that,
Half the job is already done
They’ll already feel more at ease
Because they’ve already seen
What the place looks like
Before they even got there
Another option
Is to use your company logo
That’s recognizable too
Or, even better
Use a photo of your building
With your logo placed in one corner
(If you have a little extra time to make it look really polished)
Of course,
You can also use
A photo of yourself
That will also be recognizable
When candidates arrive for the interview
Personally,
I prefer the photo of the building
It’s almost like being there
Before actually being there
Wouldn’t you agree?
