LITOU Community Guidelines

Welcome to LITOU!
LITOU has been developed by professional headhunters to make recruitment simple – for both companies and candidates. We have eliminated traditional job postings, CVs, and cover letters because, in reality, they reveal very little about either party. Instead, companies and candidates can determine whether there is a genuine match by starting a conversation.

Based on our many years of experience in the recruitment industry, we have pre-defined the criteria that both companies and candidates can match against – criteria that we know are essential in a successful recruitment process. Once a match has been made, the dialogue can begin. However, only the company can initiate the conversation. From experience, we know that hiring managers are often extremely busy and may not have time to respond to candidates’ initial questions. Those questions can instead be addressed during the conversation once a match has been established.

To help you get the most out of the app, we have compiled a collection of tips and best practices covering both the app’s features and the dos and don’ts of the recruitment process, all based on our extensive industry experience. You can read them for businesses here and for candidates here.

You may feel that some of our guidelines go beyond what is necessary. However, while only a small minority of users may engage in behaviour that negatively affects others, it is extremely important to us that LITOU remains a safe, respectful, and welcoming platform for everyone. For that reason, we want all users to clearly understand what we do and do not tolerate.

One of LITOU’s greatest strengths is its focus on immediate feedback, something that is often missing from today’s recruitment process. Specifically, when you remove a match, you have the opportunity to provide a reason for doing so, which we strongly recommend. This is not intended to embarrass or criticise anyone, but rather to provide constructive feedback that may help the other person improve in future interactions.

On this page, you can read all of LITOU’s community guidelines to help ensure that everyone has a positive experience. Failure to follow these guidelines may ultimately result in the suspension or termination of your profile.

Guidelines

Be yourself
It is important that you present yourself honestly and authentically so that both parties can form an accurate impression of one another. We do not allow impersonation, sharing your profile with another person, or creating fake profiles.

Profile limitations
You may not have more than one company profile or more than one candidate profile. However, you may have one of each. Company profiles may also be transferred to your successor if you change jobs. Candidate profiles are personal and cannot be transferred.

Your profile
Only post content that belongs to you or that you have the legal right to use. Do not upload or share copyrighted material without permission.

Protect your profile
Choose a strong password and always log out when using a public or shared computer. LITOU will never send you an email asking for your username or password. If you receive such an email, please report it immediately.

Protect your personal information
Do not publish unnecessary personal information on your profile or share more information with your match than is required to assess whether there is a potential fit. Likewise, do not ask others to provide unnecessary personal information.
Never share sensitive personal information such as your national identification number, phone number, home address, or similar details with a match before you have met for a job interview and verified each other’s identity – for example, through the company’s official website.

Treat each other with respect
Maintain a polite and respectful tone at all times, even if your day is stressful or the conversation does not go as expected. Sometimes, you can be the one who changes the tone for the better.
Remember that the person you are speaking with could become your future manager or colleague, and you may not know why communication has gone off track. Good manners and mutual respect go a long way.
If disagreements arise, pause and think before responding. Harassment, threats, bullying, intimidation, or any behaviour intended to harm others is strictly prohibited.

Violent content
Any behaviour or content intended to harm others – whether offline, physical, or digital—will be taken very seriously. This includes encouraging harmful behaviour.
We do not tolerate content containing images or descriptions of physical or psychological harm, death involving people or animals, the use of weapons, or any content that promotes, glorifies, or encourages self-harm.

Discrimination and racism
In line with applicable employment legislation, we have zero tolerance for racism or discrimination of any kind based on a person’s identity, background, or appearance. This includes, but is not limited to, race, ethnicity, nationality, immigration status, caste, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, body type, or health status.
If you match with someone who is not a suitable fit for your company, simply remove the match. We encourage you to provide respectful, non-discriminatory feedback before doing so.
Please do not report other users unless you genuinely believe they have violated these guidelines.

Minimum age
In Denmark, individuals may legally work from the age of 13. However, because collecting personal information without parental or guardian consent is restricted for individuals under the age of 16, you must be at least 16 years old to create a LITOU profile.

Profile photos
LITOU is a platform for professionals. Please ensure that your profile photo presents you in a professional and respectful manner and is unlikely to offend others.
You can read our recommendations for which business photo to use here and candidate photo here.

Fraud
Discussions about money are not permitted unless they relate directly to the salary a candidate may receive as part of a job offer. This policy is intended to prevent users from being persuaded to transfer money to another person – even if that person claims to be in an emergency situation.
Sending money is like sending cash: once the transaction has been completed, it is often impossible to reverse or trace. Never share information that could be used to gain access to your financial accounts.
If another user asks you for money, report them immediately. Be cautious if anyone asks you to send money or tries to persuade you to make an investment. It is likely to be a scam.
If you encounter this type of behaviour, you can report it here.

Comply with the law
We have zero tolerance for illegal content or illegal activities.
This means that no form of trading or commercial transactions may take place between users. This also includes offering or accepting bribes – for example, to persuade a company to hire a candidate or to encourage a candidate to leave a favourable review of a company.

Advertising and promotion
You may not advertise or promote products or services on LITOU for commercial purposes.
LITOU exists solely to connect companies and candidates and is not intended to increase a company’s sales or generate business opportunities. Therefore, money, gifts, or services may not be offered as compensation or incentives between users.

Misuse
You may not use LITOU to spread false or misleading information.
Do not send spam, malicious links, or unsolicited content. Do not manipulate, deceive, or attempt to exploit other users or the LITOU platform.
It is perfectly acceptable to discuss your matches with close friends or family. However, you should treat profiles and conversations as confidential, just as you would in any other recruitment process.
Do not submit false, misleading, or malicious reviews. Do not use third-party applications or other technologies to unlock features, manipulate the platform, or circumvent our systems.

Reporting violations
We take all violations of our Community Guidelines very seriously. If you experience one or more of the behaviours described above, we encourage you to report them directly to us.
We will investigate the matter and take appropriate action to stop any violations. By reporting inappropriate behaviour, you help us protect other users and keep the platform safe.
All reports are treated confidentially.
LITOU is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for everyone looking to recruit new employees or explore new career opportunities.
You can report a violation by completing the form here.

Consequences of a report
If another user reports you, your profile may be subject to review.
We reserve the right to investigate, suspend, or permanently delete your profile without refunding any purchases if we determine that you have violated these guidelines or engaged in behaviour that LITOU considers inappropriate, unlawful, or otherwise inconsistent with our policies.
This also applies to actions or communications that take place after a match has been established on LITOU, including during subsequent job interviews or other recruitment-related interactions.

Security reporting
LITOU welcomes feedback from users who identify potential security vulnerabilities or have suggestions for improving the security of our platform.
We are committed to investigate and resolve security issues responsibly and in a timely manner. To help protect our users, we ask that you do not disclose information about potential vulnerabilities to anyone outside LITOU until we have had the opportunity to review and address the issue with you.
We greatly appreciate your assistance in helping us keep LITOU safe and secure for everyone.
If you have any questions or concerns, experience problems with your profile, or wish to report another user, you can contact our support team here.
